I worked as a Digital Marketing Specialist at RESA Power, a B2B electrical power equipment and service provider in Houston, Texas. The unique experience that I had at this company was continuing branding efforts for newly acquired locations across the United States. I learned first-hand how to offer support to these new acquisitions by providing the branding guidelines and marketing collateral needed. My support included coordinating with service providers on their behalf for their location (fulfilling swag products, implementing storefront signage, etc.) and creating digital/print assets for their clients and events. Additionally, I worked in the middle of a website redesign project and SEO project in collaboration with BrightEdge that furthered my digital marketing expertise.
In my position, I learned about best SEO practices for alt image text, keyword usage for meta descriptions, H1 and H2 optimization, and the process of configuring these changes based on analytical data through BrightEdge and Yoast. I implemented hundreds of site page changes while providing input on the website user experience. Most of all, I learned how to best approach project management with third-party groups and how to most effectively communicate timelines, fulfill orders, and provide deliverables under tight deadlines for events such as grand openings and B2B tradeshows. Besides working on project management, I continued to work on social media objectives with an outside team in which I provided new content ideas and discussed about the reports on our social media metrics.
With a third-party group specialized in social media, I worked with a team to create one of our holiday posts for the company LinkedIn page. Inspired by LinkedIn trends, I proposed the idea to create a poll post that would invite engagement for users to react and created the caption.
This post contains technical industry information while still having the entertaining relevancy of Halloween that it was scheduled for. This post had great engagement which resulted in 40% more engagement than other company posts.
With RESA Power acquiring several locations that year, I worked on providing new marketing collateral for consistent branding so that these newly acquired locations could provide documents to their customers. I created new technical flyers for three new locations to educate their customers, and these designs (made on Adobe) were sent to the printing companies with crop marks to aid in the print job. I also designed a new business card for HR's technical recruiters. This new design allowed these recruiters to provide their personal contact information on the back of the business card.
